Merry Monday #126 - Merry Christmas

Happy Monday Everyone,
It's time for another Merry Monday Challenge and this week Karren is challenging us to make our Sentiment the Star of our Christmas card.  I have used Stampin' Up's Little Letters Thinlit Dies for my Sentiment making a negative space and used a Baby Wipe to spread three drops of similar colours onto some Vellum to get the shaded colour combination for each word.  I dry embossed the diagonal stripes and finished off with some sequins.  I have a picture tutorial of how I cut the letters out in a straight line, it took me a little while to figure out how to best keep each letter in place.

First I drew a pencil line very lightly to act as a guide where I wanted the word, then I attached the white card to the Big Shot plate with little pieces of double sided tape.  I attached a strip of waxed kitchen paper with painters tape.  I used Mini Glue dots to attached each letter die and then painters tape cut in half to keep them in place and ran them through the Big Shot.
To cut the extra "R" and "S" I repeated the process on a smaller scale being careful not to attach the painters tape to the white card because I found it was inclined to rip as it was removed, even though I desensitized it on my clothes.
Supplies:
Card and Papers: Whisper White, Waxed Paper, Vellum
Ink: Certainly Celery, Green Galore, Garden Green, Poppy Parade, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler
Finishing Touches: Darcie Sequins, 1/8" Gold Ribbon
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Little Letters Thinlits Dies, Painters Tape, Mini Glue Dots, Ruler, Pencil, Baby Wipe, Sizzix Diagonal Stripes E/Folder, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Dble Sided Tape, Tombow Multi Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Tape
Thanks for popping in today.
Hugs,

  7. What a creative idea! Sizzix has a new magnetic platform. I don't know how well it works because I don't have one yet but if it works it would probably make that technique a lot easier. I love the embossed stripes and the sequins are the perfect added touch.
