I have some exciting news for you, I have been asked to be a Designer by Loll Thomson and Bonnie Klass for the CAS Mix Up Challenges and this is my first post with the Design Team.
For my card today I made a Mask so only part of the Wire Netting could be stamped on my card base. I Silver embossed the Wire Netting, Punched and Die Cut the pieces for my Hen, coloured the Metal with Alcohol Inks and the Hen's Wing was punched, layered and then embossed with the Faux Metal Technique. I snipped the Hen's Metal Tail with scissors. I assembled the Hen with Glue Dots and Foam Tape and finished off with S/U's Metallic Pearls. The Hen inside my card was stamped, water coloured and fussy cut and then attached. To finish off I stamped and punched the sentiment.
Supplies:
Stamps: Amazing Creations - Wire Netting, S/U's Best of Cluck
Card: Thick and Thin Whisper White
Ink: Versamark
Alcohol Inks: Pitch Black, Snow Cap, Silver, Red Pepper, Blending Solution
Finishing Touches: Silver and Gold Metallic Pearls
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Gold Metal Shim, Sizzix Framelits - Ovals Collection, Mini Mister, Oval Punch, Primitive Heart Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Foil, Stamparatus, Embossing Buddy, Silver E/Powder, Heat Tool, Mini Glue Dots, Dble Sided Tape, Foam Tape
Thanks for dropping by today, lovely to see you here.
Hugs,
Oh wow... I am so impressed of those Chicken cards - Lovely work indeed.

Your faux metal hen is AWESOME, Sue! LOVE the different colours of metal you've used. The mottled body of the hen is amazing ... such great variation of colour that gives it lots of visual texture with the clipped tail feathers. Perfect on top of your heat embossed chicken wire background LOVE that you've added a design to the inside. So happy to have you part of our team, Sue!! xx
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the friendly CAS Mix Up Team Susan and thrilled you are part of it x. Absolutely love your fabulous and unique card. It is so creative and fun. Great metal techniques and wonderful CAS inspiration, whilst mixing the medias for the challenge. That's one fabulous hen and love the layering of the embossing powder and the snipping of the metal for its tail. Love the added metal with the wire silver heat stamping and the little metallic pearls. Great to finish off your card with the hen inside...another fun idea x Outstanding card x.
ReplyDeleteA huge welcome to the team Susan! we are so happy to have you designing with us! What a fun layered metal and faux metal chicken! Love the colors you used and the chicken wire is the perfect background for her! xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on joining the DT Susan, and your chicken is such fun on this beautiful card. I love the different techniques you have used and the silver embossed wire netting stamped in the background is perfect. I adore the shiny red wattle and the faux metal heart shaped wing, and a great idea to add another beautifully coloured chicken image inside the card too with some more stamped and embossed silver wire netting. x

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being on the CAS Mix Up Design Team, Susan!
ReplyDeleteFantastic faux metal hen! What amazed me is that you used various punches and dies to make this hen. I, at first, thought you used a hen die set! How ingenious you are! The Alcohol Ink colors and Metallic Pearls finish look fabulous and interesting. The silver heat-embossed masked wire netting is a nice touch too!
