Dynamic Duos #4 - Vintage Bird

Hi there,
This week's challenge at Dynamic Duos is to use a Monochromatic palette of Bashful Blue and Marina Mist with Neutrals. I used my new Elegant Bird Die and "Adorning Accents" Edgelits to make a Vintage card.   Before I embossed the background I inked up the embossing folder, I love how it turned out, really looks like wallpaper.  I punched out the Blossom shapes from some Crinoline for the flower and coloured them with Bashful Blue and Marina Mist re-inkers.  When the pieces were dry I scrunched them up and formed my flower, another first using the Crinoline and I love it. The Ribbon Seam Binding was sprayed with water and scrunched up into a ball and put in a plastic bag for a while and then unravelled and air dried, worked really well.  I did lots of sponging with Crumb Cake ink and finished my card with some pearls.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Under the Big Top
Card and Papers:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Beau Chateau DSP
Ink: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake,
Finishing Touches: Pearls, Crinoline Fabric, Marina Mist Satin Ribbon, Very Vanilla Ribbon Seam Binding,
Tools: Big Shot, Provo Craft Jamara EB Folder, Sizzix Polka Dot EB Folder, Sponges, Sizzix Edgelits "Adorning Accents", Sizzix Elegant Bird Die, Blossom Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Sizzix Sizzlits Lots of Tags Label, Bow Easy, Water Mister, Fiskars Trimmer and Embossing Tool, Mini Glue Dots, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals
Thanks' for visiting today.  Happy Stamping!

Pat Carr's Stamp Camp - April 2012 - Shoe Box Swaps

Happy Weekend Everyone,
Finally I have had some time to organise the Shoebox Swaps from Pat Carr's Stamp Camp weekend.
Sorry it has taken a while, my Husband and I have been busy Baby sitting Grand children in Perth, moving furniture and bits and pieces while our house is decorated, mainly painting although we have removed three wardrobes and there is still more to come.  I am exhausted and totally over cleaning up the mess.  My craft room is the latest to be pulled apart, so I hope it won't be too long before I can move everything back.  There is one omen from this we are having a thorough clean out and clearing things that haven't been used for ages so that is good. LOL
The first two cards were my swap and I found the tutorial on Lori Heiling's blog.

Very cute Punch Art Bear
A Bear becomes a Dog
The embossing is sponged, love the pretty colours and detail on the inside and the main image was inked up with Calypso Coral, stamped off and then re stamped with the dots from the same stamp set "Flight of the Butterfly".
The ribbon fish and the punched circles really make this card with the addition of the stamped sea grass and then highlighted with the White Gel Pen.  The birds were made with a Heart Punch and the waves were made with a circle punch.

This one was a bit tricky making the three little 1" x 1" scenes.  There was a lot of masking, brayering and sponging to create it, but I love the end result.

This card was a one layer card except for the punched Itty Bitty flowers.  It was stamped with a mask in place and then sponged around the mask and the leaves were a reverse mask and sponged to create them.
The Christmas card was a reverse mask using the Penant Punch and three different greens and a brown for the tree trunks.  I think they call the bow a Flat Bow where you punch two holes and thread the ribbon through them twice.
A very pretty Quilt card which we dry embossed once the squares were in place and then added the finishing touches a rosette and scrunched seam binding ribbon with a brad.
Love the Pom Pom centre of this punched flower card, it was made with Crochet cotton.

Cherita Anderson designed these three fantastic male cards.

I adored this project.  It was to show we could use canvas to work on with watercolour ink and then embellish it.

Dynamic Duos Challenge #1 - Two Birds on a Branch

Hello Friends,
Welcome to the first ever Dynamic Duo's Colour Challenge. Each week we will have two colours for you to use to create a card, scrapbook page, craft or digital project. Only the two colours, otherwise known as "The Dynamic Duo", may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, white, vanilla, skin colours and Kraft are also welcome.  Our challenge colours this week are Pool Party and Lucky Limeade suggested by Sharla in our Facebook Contest.  For winning Sharla gets to join the "Dynamo" Design Team as a Guest Designer this week. A new weekly challenge will be issued each Saturday with a closing date the following Thursday at Noon (PDT).
So onto my card, I created the clouds using a Scallop Circle punch, sponging around the shape.  Created the Birds Nest using a Small and Large Oval Punch.  For the branch and leaves I masked around the area.  The flowers where coloured using Pool Party stamp pad, removing the Pool Party colour on the stems with a Blender Pen and using my Lucky Limeade Markers to colour the leaves and stem and then Huffing and Puffing on the stamp to moisten it again before stamping.  The Seam Binding Ribbon was dyed using a Lucky Limeade Re-Inker and tied with an In Colour Brad.

Supplies:
Stamps:  S/U's Best of Everything,  Tiny Tags
Card:  Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Crumb Cake
