Happy Father's Day

Hello,

It's the first Sunday in September and that means it's Father's Day here in Australia today.  I made this card for my Husband.  He loved his card although he isn't sure about the buttons.  If only he knew how much bother I went to to put them there.  I was going to glue them in place but because I had put thread in the button holes and tied them off on the back they wouldn't sit flat, so I ended up pulling the card apart and redoing it and sewing the buttons to the ribbon. Besides buttons are popular at the moment aren't they!!!! Anyway after I played with it this is the finished result. Hope you like it.

Stamps: Penny Black Bubbly Clear Stamps set, More Great Greetings (R)

Upsy Daisy

When I made the last card for the Demo Swap I tried a different colour way, as we all do sometimes so that is how this card came about.  I stepped it up a bit for this card only using two sections of the image, using the Swiss Dots EB Folder on the base card and the EK Success Dotted Wave Punch. I didn't add a sentiment because I am not sure what I am using it for yet.
Stamps: Upsy Daisy
Card: Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Clover Love In Bloom Scrapbook Kit DP
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots EB Folder, EK Success Dotted Wave Border Punch, Crystals, Fine Ribbon, Dimensionals, 3/16" Corner Rounder

Hope you like it.

Stamperoo's Demo Swap for August

I made this card for the August Stamperoo's Demo Swap.  The theme was to use punches.  I used the 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, which I have just discovered is not in the current catalogue and the retired Spring Flower Bouquet Punch. Oopps!! Never mind most people would have a Corner Rounder of some description.
I inked the Upsy Daisy stamp with Pretty In Pink and then brushed the Rose Red over the top and stamped the image.  I cut the image into three even pieces and used the Corner Rounder Punch on every corner.  I tied the white grossgrain ribbon onto the card and then mounted the images on dimensionals.  I punched the flower and used the stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the sentiment on the small strip of card.  I then punched a 1/4" circle (R) for the centre of the flower and dabbed it with the 2 way glue pen and added the glitter.  Although it is a very basic card it was quick and easy and suitable for a Make & Take at a workshop.
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, On Your Birthday
Card: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Rose Red
Ink: Pretty In Pink, Rose Red
Accessories: 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, Spring Flower Bouquet Punch (R), 1/4" Circle Punch (R), Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals, Glitter, 2 Way Glue Pen, Ribbon

SC243 - Framed Daisy

I stamped the main image twice, once with Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss and then cut out the pieces I wanted to highlight.  I raised the border and flower on dimensionals so the image resembled a frame and the flower head to give the card a 3D appearance.  Punched the borders, attached the mats, crystals and ribbon and it was done.
Stamps: Artee Bordered Flower 1
Card: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Good Morning Sunshine DP
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: EK Success Border Punch, Crystals, Fine Glitter, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #12 - By God's Grace

Hi there,
For my card for this week I decided to keep the design simple like the sketch. I was going to use my piercing tool around the edge and on the scalloped strip, but felt it would distract from the elegant look I was going for. Hope you like it.

This card reminds me of a warm summer's day. We are experiencing very sultry, rainy weather at the moment. I love the colours, but hate really hot weather. I guess I just wanted to use some colours other then white, grey and baja, which seem to be featuring in all the challenges I have participated in lately. LOL. This is for a friend's birthday so I hope she likes it.

Mojo Monday Sketch #98, Almost Spring

Hi there,

It's still winter here so I decided to brighten my day and yours with a very colourful and bright card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I had heaps of fun creating the design.

I stamped and cut the butterfly out and mounted it with glue dots. Cut out the nestabilities shapes and while the cutout was in the nestability I ran the metallic gold pen around the edge, then matted the focal piece with the dahlia shapes. I stitched the ribbon together to make a bow and attached it with glue dots. Added the crystals and it was done.

Stamps: Verve's Beautiful You & Fluttering By
Card: Old Olive, Summer Sun, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White, Rose Red DP Print Pattern, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red, Orchid Opulence
Accessories: Metallic Gold Pen, Mat Pack & Piercing Tool, Ribbons, Crystals, Cuttlebug, Dahlia, Plain & Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Needle & Cotton, Glue, Dimensionals, Glue Dots
Let me know if it brightened your day.

Christmas in July Swap

Hello,

Second post for today. I made this card for the Stamperoo's Christmas in July Swap. I made 34 swaps and 6 extras to add to my stash for Christmas. I love this scene, it definitely has a Northern Hemisphere feel. As we don't have snow at all, let alone Christmas it's something I can only dream about.

Recipe:
Stamps: A Wish for Peace, Occasional Greetings
Card: Handsome Hunter, Basic Grey, Whisper White
Ink: Handsome Hunter, Basic Grey & Summer Sun Markers
Accessories: Aqua Painter, 2 Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Wide Oval Punch, Cuttlebug, Scallop Oval Nestabilities, Dimensionals

I kept the design fairly plain, and used Handsome Hunter card, a colour I only seem to use for Christmas cards. I could have added some brads or crystals if I had enough to go round, which I will probably add to the cards that remain. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by today.

Hugs,

Cat's Ink Siggy
