CAS Mix Up - November 2019 - Oxidized Metal - Christmas Pines

Hi Friends,
Welcome to November's CAS Mix Up Challenge, I am hosting this month and my Challenge is to use the Oxidized Metal Technique.  I only found one Video by Jay Soriano for this technique and thought it might be a quick solution for those last minute Christmas cards.  Jay makes it look so easy, I tried a few times and had mixed results.  The two colours Red and Green muddied easily but I liked the end result and used a couple of pieces I created for my cards.
Please note: Do rub the excess ink off with a Paper Towel after setting the colours with the Clear Embossing Powder, also blot the coloured foil onto scrap paper to help eradicate the excess ink.  I Clear Embossed again after I cut with the dies and this helped lessen the ink transfer and then used tweezers to handle the die cuts.  Also when the ink appears dry foiling might be an option to soak up any excess ink as in using alcohol inks, I didn't try this but I will next time I give it a go.

CAS Mix Up Reminder - October 2019 - Foiling - Beautiful Rose

Hi,
It's time for a reminder at CAS Mix Up and this month we want you to Use Foiling + Stamping + Your Choice of Techniques.  Bonnie is Host and Michele (I Card Everyone) is our Guest Designer.
For my card today I printed the Rose Image with a Laser Printer and then foiled it with my Laminator with GoPress Foil and Fussy Cut it.  I Silver embossed the sentiment and dry embossed the mat and finished off adding the Sequins.  The inside Rose a smaller version of the one on the front has also been foiled and fussy cut.

CAS Mix Up - October 2019 - Foiling - Butterflies

Good day to You,
It's the 1st of October and time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up.  This month Bonnie is Hostess and wanting us to Use Foiling on our cards. We Welcome Michele (I Card Everyone) as our Guest Designer for October.
I used a Butterfly Stencil for the background and Deco Foil Transfer Gel with a Laminator.  The Butterflies from Stampin' Up were die cut from Twin  Stick Foam and the foil added by hand.  I embossed the sentiment and stamped the inside colouring those Butterflies with my Wink of Stella Brush and a Marker.

CAS Mix Up Reminder - September 2019 - Inchies - Light House

For my card I made a scene  using bits and pieces from my stamps stash, I love how it came together.  The main thing for a scene is to get the scale of each image right which fortunately I had some mini stamps to achieve this and keep the lighthouse as the dominant feature.  The black mat makes the Inchies pop.

CAS Mix Up - September 2019 - Inchies - 3D

It's time for a new Challenge at CAS Mix Up, Joanna is challenging us to make Inchies. For this card I basically followed the videos that Joanna presented, doing a bit of everything to make them.  I matted them on the white squares with the stitched Borders and popped them up with Dimensionals.  I kept my colour palette to about five colours and put a bit of each on each Inchie. CAS Mix Up Reminder - August 2019 - Paper Towel - Crocus Flowers

Hi there,
Loll is challenging us to use Paper Towel this month at CAS Mix Up and this post is a reminder that you have until the 24th August to join us and play along.  I managed to get some variation and texture onto my piece of card by spraying the water coloured Paper Towel and dabbing it onto this piece and also using a clear block.  I also dabbed some ink onto the inside of my card for some added interest.  I cut some Vellum flowers, coloured them with Markers and mounted them onto a layer of Whisper White for more strength.

CAS Mix Up - August 2019 - Paper Towel - A Rose

Hello stampers,
It's time for a new Challenge at CAS Mix Up and Loll is challenging us to Use Paper Towel + Stamping + Your Choice.  I adhered the Alcohol Inked Paper Towel to some White card and then cut 5 layers of the Die Cut Outline and 1 layer of the Inlaid Pieces to make the flower.  The Leaves were made the same but are only 1 layer. The Sentiment and Butterfly where Gold Embossed and the Pearls added the finishing touch.  For the inside I inked the flower and leaves with Markers, Huffed and Stamped.

For Project #7 we embossed the Magnolia Flower onto Watercolour card and then Watercoloured the flowers and Leaves with an Aqua Painter.  It was challenging to get some definition on the Flower Petals and Leaves, so I did multiple layers of colour on the edges of the petals and tried to define the veins in the leaves.
