Foliage - Gingko Branches

Hi there,

Today's post is another Foliage card that was made for a cancelled challenge.

I stamped the Foliage on watercolour card and then smooshed it using Distress Oxide inks and water on my mat. The leaves in the background are white heat embossed on the Smokey Slate card.  The sentiment is also white embossed on grey card and mounted on Foam Tape.  The inside is finished off to compliment the front, but I used Smokey Slate ink to stamp the background images.

Foliage - Leaf Canopy

Hello there,

Today's post is another challenge card that was never used, enjoy!

I stamped my images on Watercolour card and extended the branch on the right by masking the upper leaves.  I coloured with an Aqua Painter and my Distress Inks blending different shades of colour together on each leaf.  I used some of the left-over ink on my mat to splatter some extra ink over the leaves.  I finished of the inside and attached my sentiment to the front using foam tape.

Multiple Circles - Multiple Zentangled Circles

Today's post is another Multiple Circle card in a different format.  Once I had drawn the circles I Zentangled them.  The For You sentiment is punched out with a Scallop Circle Punch and mounted on a dimensional.

Multiple Circles -Fresh Daises

Hello Friends, 

Today's card was created for a challenge but never used, hope you like it!

To make my card I created a Stencil with Spellbinders Classic Circles Dies and a piece of Acetate.  I used Distress Inks to make Circles within Circles off set from the center, so it looks a bit like a tunnel using the outside circle graduating to the smallest one and attaching the different circles that I cut out with the die to make the shape uniform.  Then I cut the Daisies 3 times with black card and once with white card attaching the black ones one on top of the other and offsetting the white one to create a shadow effect. I finished off by stamping the Sentiment with Versamark and heat embossing with White E/Powder.  I added Foam Tape to this put it in place and finished with the Candy Dots.

CAS Mix Up Challenge Reminder - September 2022 - Gesso - Sweet Spring Flowers

Hello Friends,

Today I am sharing my reminder card for the September CAS Mix Up Challenge hosted by Hilary.  It is a Stencil challenge this month and Hilary is challenging us to use Gesso.  

I started by using a Brayer to apply the Gesso on the Basic Grey card which gave me this very textured effect that you can see on my card.  Let it dry and then attached my cleaned stencil again and applied the colours with make-up brushes and sponge daubers.  I masked off around the different parts of the stencil to keep my colours were I wanted them.  I added the pink mat and the sentiment, both coloured with the same pink Pickled Raspberry Oxide Ink.  I finished off the inside of my card by sponging on the different Oxide colours using the stencil.

CAS Mix Up Challenge - September 2022 - Gesso - Male Card

Hello Friends,

Hilary is our host for this month's CAS Mix Up Challenge and she is challenging us to use Gesso with our Stencils.  We Welcome Sue (Cards by Q) as our Guest Designer.

I started by sponging Gesso through my stencil, when is was dry I repositioned the clean Stencil and sponged with Distress Ink - Speckled Egg and Weathered Wood and then wiped over the sponging with a Baby Wipe to remove the ink from the Gesso.  I stamped the Car and cut it out with the matching die mounting it on dimensionals.  I added some Wink of Stella to the front grill and hub caps and stamped the Sentiment with Stazon Black.  I did a bit more sponging through the Stencil for the inside of my card and added the die cut cogs.

Pink and Navy card

Hi Friends,
Today's card..  I have been working with my Copics on this card with inspiration from Yana Smakula.  I love the way Yana uses dark backgrounds and Copic coloured flowers.  I used Night of Navy card for the background, were Yana does use dark card or colours the background with Copics.  I did Fussy Cut the flowers  and it would probably be easier to stamp on the front of the card. Thank You Yana for the inspiration!
