For the last weekend in July I attended the Stamperoo's Stamp Camp which was held at Swanleigh in the Swan Valley. Christmas in July was the theme for the weekend and thirty four Demonstrators met and we had a fabulous time chatting, laughing and stamping. We started on Friday evening with dinner in the Dinning Room and then moved to the Library were everything was set up. Ngaire gave us this sweet little gift made out of the Top Note Die, which was full of a yummy toffee mixture that she makes.
I delivered the first Workshop and we made Lanterns from my own design. We started from scratch drawing the template bit by bit. It was a bit time consuming and considering the number of participants it went relatively smoothly, there were a couple of wrong turns but the results were terrific. I altered my original design and used vellum for the side panels so the battery operated tea lights flickered through. Here are some of the completed Lanterns. Don't they look fabulous.
We all prepped for a Shoebox Swap, and moved around the room making each others design for the rest of the evening, getting to know each other and having a good ole chat. Some of us were still going at 2am. Here are the swaps we made. The Scallop circle in the top picture was on my thank you present from Ngaire, I love the design.
On Saturday after breakfast Jenny Chilton did a workshop on a Meander Book designed by Beate Johns. The centre of the book is made from one sheet of 12" x 12" designer paper. You could use it as a gift with photos, verses or quotes. It turned out really cute. I have not finished decorating mine as I need to organise some photos.
Pat Carr did a workshop on an Accordian Flip File Album that was originally designed by LeeAnn Greff. Once again I have not had the time to finish mine. These are the outside and inside views.
After Lunch we all went onto finishing the Shoebox swaps. There were some fantastic ideas for cards and 3D items.
This is Ann Gerlach's Swap, I love the way she did the frosting on the little pudding which I have tried to capture in the photo.
This was Nicolle Ewings Swap. Everyone loved it.
My swap was a box for four pencils that I created myself.
We had all been so busy we nearly forgot to take a photo of the group, unfortunately a couple of ladies had already left, so here we are.
It was a very full 24 hours and we had lots of fun. Thanks so much to Ngaire for organising the event, Jenny and Pat for their workshops, and to everyone else for your fabulous swaps and friendship.
Thanks for stopping by today for my very long post.
Hugs,
