Today's post is for The Paper Players Colour Challenge this week hosted by LeAnne. The colours would make a lovely Christmas card but I decided to try something different and I wanted to use a Beveled Window Pane on a project. I stamped the background using Versamark and clear embossing powder. The edges are sponged and I stitched around the card with my sewing machine. The strips of Designer Paper for the bottom edge were punched with the Scallop Border Punch. I stamped the perched birds from Clearly for You with Riding Hood Red and used the flourish as a backdrop in River Rock. The Window Pane is held in place with Mini Glue Dots and ribbon. I stamped Happy Birthday and attached it with the Always Artichoke brads.

ReplyDeleteI have not ventured into using these pretty frames, so I am glad you chose my colors for your card!! AND it's not Christmas--woohoo! Very pretty, unique creation--dreamy and very appealing!
ReplyDeleteWow, Susan! I love how you used these traditional "holiday" colors for a "non-holiday" card. I tried and was completely unsuccessful. I just love all of the great elements you added to your card, It all just works so well together. Thank you for the inspiration to use these window panes more often, too. Very pretty! Hugs! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you made something other than a Christmas card with these colors! Love the clear embossed tree and such a clever way to use the beveled frames. Love the stitching too!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! Susan I love so many things about your card. The background is by far my favorite. The River Rock is just perfect with the clear embossing. So well done!
ReplyDeleteWow, Susan! From the stitching to the windowpane, there are so many fabulous details on this card! Great job creating the scene!
ReplyDeleteI have these frames and can't quite figure out how and when to use them. I think I've only tried once! Great job with the way you implemented it with the birds and the tree in the background. Cute card!
ReplyDeleteSusan, This is such a clever card how you have combined the 3 stamp sets to make one scene. I love the birds in the tree. Such a great detail.
