Merry Monday #97 - Merry and Bright

Hi there,
This weeks inspiration for Merry Monday is beautiful and elegant and we are to use Aqua, Silver and White.  I Silver embossed the Poinsettia  on Vellum and sponged it with Tim Holtz dye ink. I cut into the flower so I could shape the petals and give it more definition. The mat was cut on an angle using Winter Frost designer paper and Pool Party card and matted onto the White.  I finished off with Shiny Pearls, Silver Ribbon and Silver embossed the Sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Joyful Christmas, Simon Says Small Folded Banners Holiday
Card and Papers: Whisper White, Pool Party, Vellum, Winter Frost DSP
Ink: Versamark, Tim Holtz Distress Inks Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles
Finishing Touches: 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Shiny Silver Pearls

Celebrating a Golden Anniversary

Hello Friends,
Today I am featuring two cards that I made for two Benedictine Monks that are Celebrating 50 Years of Ordination.  The Brothers live at New Norcia in the Benedictine Monastery.  I have to say I was a little daunted by this task, didn't quite know were to start, but my Friend who asked for the cards knows the Brothers well after working with them at the Monastery and suggested different elements to make the cards.  The first one represents the Australian Bush as this Brother has spent a lot of his years working with the Aborigines in Outback Australia and of course the Gold cross for 50 years of Ordination.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp It - 899E Acacia Tree Large, Stamp World - B586 Grassy Hills
Card: Gold Metallic, Very Vanilla, Shiny Gold Foil
Ink: Stazon Black,
Cool Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Computer and Printer
The second Brother has written a couple of children's books and they feature a Black Cat as the hero of the story and also worked a lot of his life in the Country which inspired the rustic wooden Cross.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp It - 899E Acacia Tree Large, Young Blackboy, Stamp World - B586 Grassy Hills,

Stenciled Day 3 - Elegant Bird

Hi Friends,
Today's post is inspired by Day 3 of the On Line Stencilled classes.  I just loved the stencilled techniques by Debby Hughes today.  Debby's stunning card was so elegant and beautiful, just gorgeous I had to give it a go. I cut my own templates using dies in my stash and applied the embossing paste on the bird and the mat.  Both are coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I used some shimmer ink and water on the mat for the background effect, embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and finished off with some crystals and a pearl. Love how it turned out, I was so inspired by these Stenciled classes you will be seeing a bit more of the techniques we learnt soon.

Merry Monday #93 - Radiant Glitter Ornaments

Hey There Stampers,
We had a fantastic lot of entries to last weeks Merry Monday challenge, thanks for joining us.
This week the Merry Monday Challenge is to use an Ornament or Ornaments on your Christmas card.  I saw a new technique that I hadn't tried so I decided to have a go for this challenge.  I found this card at Gayatri Murali's Blog Handmade by G3 and there is a video on Jennifer Rzasa's Blog for her Radiant Glitter Technique. Instead of doing a whole card front I used the Technique to do just the Ornaments.  I love how they turned out, so sparkly and pretty.  I followed Jennifer's tutorial and then die cut and punched the snowflakes and attached them to the Adhesive sheet before I began to use the glitter.  I kept my glitter separate on different sheets of scrap paper because my containers are large enough to be able return and reuse the glitter.

Supplies:
Stamps: Simon Says Christmas Sentiments
Card and Papers: Whisper White, S/U's Sizzix Dble Sided Adhesive Sheets,
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo
Finishing Touches: Very fine Glitter, Karen Fosters Scrappers Floss, Darcie Sequins, Crystals
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Carl CP1N Snow-A Punch, Sizzix Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die, 1 1/4" Square Punch, Simon Says Merry Christmas Die,  Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals, Tombow Multi Purpose Glue
Thanks for visiting today, I would love to hear from you.
Hugs.
