Freshly Made Sketches 1 Yr Anniversary - Retro Squares

Happy Monday Folks,
Today's post is for the Freshly Made Sketches 1 Year Anniversary Celebration.  We are to choose a sketch from the past and use it for this week. I have decided to go with Week 20. I used a new die from My Favourite Things called Retro Squares for my card, love the dimensional effect it has and then had to keep with the square theme until I made the flower. The flower petals have all been snipped further into the centre, embossed, sponged and then assembled after that I pinched the tips of the petals to give the flower some shape.

CASology #10 - Medivac Helicopter

Hello Friends,
Today's post is for the CASology Challenge this week and the Cue Card Word is SKY.  Unfortunately when we hear a Helicopter in our small town most of the time it means there has been an accident or someone is very ill and needs to be air lifted to Perth 200kms away.  We actually had a Medivac helicopter come today, it always flies over our house before it lands and you can hear it coming from quite a distance before it arrives. It made me think that I could use it as inspiration for my card today.  I used two layers, die cut the clouds, stamped the sentiment after I had made a couple of score lines under it and stamped, coloured and fussy cut the helicopter.  The Bashful Blue layer and the helicopter are mounted on Dimensionals to add interest.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sullivan's International Clear Stamps Item #93880 Helicopter, MFT Bunny Slippers
Card: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Ink: Stazon Black, Real Red
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Papertrey Ink Cloud Dies, Fiskars Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event - Perth Regionals 25th August, 2012 Part 5

Hello Friends,
Today I am showing you the last item I made for Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event in Perth.  I used a Metal CD Container and decorated it for a Wedding incorporating a pocket for Money or a Gift Card on the inside.  I found that I needed to use the Embossing Buddy to stop the embossing powder from sticking to the tin around the outside of the stamped image.  I made sure I had a lot of the Embossing buddy powder on the tin before stamping.  If one of the images didn't stamp well  I removed the Versamark and Embossing powder with a tissue with some Isocol Rubbing Alchol. It cleaned the surface beautifully, let it dry and start again.

Supplies:
Metal CD Container
Stamps: S/U's I (Heart) Hearts, Marry Me, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Whisper White
Ink: Versamark
Finishing Touches: White Organdy Ribbon, Bakers Twine
Tools: Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Pewter E/Powder, Big Shot, Sizzix Polka Dot E/Folder, Eyelet Border Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Fiskars Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits, Word Window Punch, Crop-a-dile, Dble Sided Tape
Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you have enjoyed my series of projects using the Heat Tool.

Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event - Perth Regionals 25th August, 2012 - Part 4

Hi Crafters,
Today I have a few more cards that I made for Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event in Perth.  I stamped the flowers on the first card on Vellum and embossed them with White Embossing Powder.  I then punched the flowers again in Whisper White  and backed them behind the Vellum and cut them to shape.
Embossing on Vellum
Supplies:
Stamps:  S/U's Mixed Bunch, Four Frames, Petite Pairs
Card: Whisper White, Vellum
Inks: Versamark
Finishing Touches: White Organdy Ribbon, Pearls from Pretties Kit (R)
Tools: Big Shot, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, White E/Powder, Pewter E/Powder, Decorative Label Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Sizzix Polka Dot E/Folder, Blossom Punch, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, 2 Way Glue Pen, Fiskars Trimmer and Scoring Tool
Ribbon Flower Created with the Heat Tool, Basic Embossing

The Ribbon Flower Tutorial by Kelly Acheson can be found here.
I did find that the Organdy Ribbon is very sensetive to heat and you need to hold your heat tool a bit further away so you don't cook it.  The Satin Ribbon is less heat sensative and needs a warmer heat to make it curl.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Marry Me, Tiny Tags
Card: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Stazon Black
Finishing Touches: White Organdy Ribbon, Brad
Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Vintage Wallpaper E/Folder, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Tag Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Sticky Strip, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Pewter E/Powder, Fiskars Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dot
Thanks for dropping by today.
