CAS Mix Up Challenge Reminder for March 2021 - Print Making With Die-Cuts - Leaves

Hi there,

Today's post is a reminder to let you know that you can still play along at CAS Mix Up until the 24th March, 2021 with this month's challenge.

I inked up my die cuts with three different colours of green using re-inkers for more intense colour.  then spritzed with water and stamped on my Whisper White card.  I used one of the die cut's as the main focal point when it was dry.  I also stamped the inside of my card in the same way.

CAS Mix Up Challenge - March 2021 - Print Making With Die-Cuts - Butterflies

Hi there,

We are celebrating our 5th Birthday at CAS Mix Up this month.  Bonnie is challenging us to do some Print making with Die Cuts using water and ink.  I used this butterfly from Papertrey Ink with mixed results. My prints are very light and although I used dark coloured Markers the water washed them out a lot.  For the inside I didn't use as much water and achieved better results.  I did add the die cuts I used to make the prints on the inside.  We Welcome Ros Crawford as our Guest Designer for March.

CAS Mix Up Reminder February 2021 - Stencil Heat Embossing - Black and Gold

 Hi Friends,

This is my Reminder card to let you know that you have until the 24th February to join us for this month's CAS Mix Up Challenge.  

I used the Floral Layering Stencil from Tim Holtz, stamping the Versamark twice after each layer of Gold embossing powder was applied and set which gave a beautiful smooth finish.  I did have to do a bit of work to remove stray and bits of powder that weren't in the right place with a pointed cutting tool and rubber.  I also stamped the sentiment and Gold embossed and then cut the pieces of card with metal dies from Mamma Elephant.  I repeated these steps for the inside and finished the front with some Metallic Gold Pearls.

How I prepared my stencil before stamping so I could only use the parts I required.

CAS Mix Up February 2021 - Stencil Heat Embossing - Oh So Succulent

Hi Friends,

It's time for February's CAS Mix Up Challenge and this month Nancy wants us to use Stencils for Heat Embossing.  Arleen is our Guest Designer.  

For my card I cut a stitched Rectangle, stamped the dots twice with Versamark and applied the embossing powder to get a thicker layer of embossing powder through the Stencil.  I made the Succulent pot with an Oval die cutting the ends off and sponging the edges.  The Succulent stamp outline was stamped with Stazon Black and then I stamped the fill in stamp with the Mint Macaron Stamp Pad and used a Vintage Violet Marker around the edges.  To finish off I die cut the Flourish and embossed the Sentiment in Gold.

I used a Toothbrush and an Aqua Painter for my Splatters on this card.  Mainly the toothbrush but I wanted some bigger splatters to incorporate the stamped ones at the bottom of the Skateboard and a bit more control to were they were placed so I used my Aqua Painter.

CAS Mix Up January 2021 - Splatters - Dog Rose

Hi Friends,

Happy New Year!

Welcome to the first CAS Mix Up for 2021.  January's challenge is to use Splatters on your card.  Hilary is our Hostess and our Guest Designer is Elaine.

I used this lovely image of Dog Roses by Sherry Russ from Stamplorations, Water coloured the image, Heat embossed the Sentiment in Gold and added some Splatters with Tsuineko Delicata Gold by adding some water on my mat and using an Aqua Painter.  I did try Jennifer McGuire's water splatters and then using Gold E/Powder but I felt the splatters were to blobby for my design so I removed them.  The front panel and inside were die cut with a Rectangle Stitched Die.
