Blog Awards

Hello everyone,
Over the last couple of weeks I have received a couple of awards from my stamping friends. Thank's so much to Fiona Platzer for the Beautiful Blogger Award and Tui Nathan, Alison Pratt and Chairmaine Black for the Sunshine Award.  Sorry if I have missed anyone. I know quite a few bloggers have already received these awards, so instead of passsing them on to a few I would like to pass them onto everyone that visits my blog to show my appreciation for your visits and your lovely comments.

Thank you so much.

Ink: Close to Cocoa

Just Add Ink #19 - Flying High

Hi There,
Another post today for the Just Add Ink challenge this week.  I wasn't sure what I was going to create with this colour scheme at first, so after looking through the catalogue and deciding what could be used I settled on "A Little Treat" stamp set.  This is my second card; looked at the colours and thought they were Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquiose and Elegant Eggplant. It was only when I went to write up this post that I found I had the wrong colours.  Ooops!!  My first card is at the bottom of this post.
Supplies:
Stamps:  A Little Treat, Starring You, Good Neighbours, All In The Family
Card: Taken With Teal, Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Going Gray, Taken With Teal
Embellishments: Staple, Ribbons,
Tools: 1 3/4" Punch, Small and Large Oval Punches, Star Punch, Classic Circles Nestabilities, Big Shot ,Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals, Stapler

ESAD - SU Unconvention - 3D Challenge - Gardenia Pepworth

Hi Inkers,
Todays post is another ESAD challenge that I made and set by Gardenia Pepworth.  Gardenia provided the tutorial to make the box and we decorated it to suit ourselves.  I did a Christmas scene. The snowflake circles inside the box provide an extra surprise element when the box is opened. They are attached to the lid and bottom parts of the box.  Chantell Randall had a terrfic idea and made these pieces square and large enough to fit just inside the box so photos, journaling, verses etc. had more space to be added.
Supplies:
Stamps: A Wish for Peace, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Night of Navy, Ballet Blue, Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Ink: Night of Navy, Garden Green, Basic Grey, Summer Sun, Versamark, Bashful Blue
Embellishments: Dazzling Diamonds, White Grossgrain Ribbon
Tools: Silver EB Powder, Heat Tool, Glue, Word Window Punch, Oval Scalloped Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Paper Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Dimensionals, Sponge, Scissors, Bone Scorer
Tip: To make the matte behind the sentiment you punch out a Scallop Oval and trim the sides straight.  It fits perfectly behind the Word Window Punch piece.

ESAD - SU Unconvention - Butterflies

Hello everyone,
I have another Unconvention colour challenge today.  The colours that Michelle Frost-Stevenson set where Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. I did mine using the technique Merging Colour.  You stamp your card with the different colours and then over stamp with a different stamp using versamark and clear embossing powder and heat set it.  To finish off you use your brayer with one of the colours and then wipe off the excess ink where the butterflies are and presto you then have emerging colour under the embossed images.  Very effective technique.  I did get an Honourable Mention for this card. Let me know what you think.
Supplies:
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Garden Whimsy, Tiny Tags
Card: Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Embellishments: Old Olive Grossgrain Ribbon
Tools: Heat Tool, Brayer, Clear Embossing Powder, Medium Jewelry Tag Punch, Linen Thread
Thanks for stopping by today.

Hello there,
This weekend is Stampin' Up's convention in Sydney, yesterday and today.  I decided not to go this year, but I am having some fun doing the cyberstamp challenges put up by members of the Extra Special Australian Demonstrators for Stampin' Up!  They decided to have an Unconvention  which is going from Thursday to Sunday.  If you are a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator you can join the group too if you live in Australia or New Zealand.  Just go to the icon on my blog on the right hand side of the page and it will take you to the sign up page.
So I am going to show you some of the projects I have been creating over the last few days and it will probably go all week.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 17 - Red Fish

Hi there,
Today's post is for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge.  The JAI Design Team had a blog hop on the 14th May and included some different techniques at each blog.  For this weeks challenge participants are to choose one or more of the techniques and make an item, I have gone with Chantell Randall's Alcohol and Re-inker's technique. I used glossy card for my design with Brillant Blue, Taken With Teal, Tempting Turquiose and Metallic Silver reinkers.  I also used another stamping technique for the Sea grass.  You ink up your stamp using Versarmark , then stamp on your Classic coloured stamp pad and sprinkle on clear embossing powder to create a raised image. Then heat set it for some definition and this is how you add colour using Stampin' Ups! Classic Stamp pads which are soluable in water.  The fish were stamped in Real Red and then I added some Dazzling Diamonds to bling them up a bit.
Supplies
Card: Glossy White, Tempting Turquiose, Brillant Blue
Ink: Real Red, Brillant Blue, Tempting Turquiose, Taken With Teal, Metallic Silver, Versamark, Garden Green
Embellishments: Black Pearl, Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds
Tools: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Provo Craft Tiny Bubbles EB Folder, Dimensionals, Glue, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Scissors, Rubbing Alcohol, Cotton Wool

Top Note Purse and Scalloped Envelope Box

Hi there,
For today I have a couple of projects to show how versatile the Top Note Die and Scalloped Envelope Die are.  I used my Nestabilities for the flap on the purse but you could also use the Scallop Circle and Circles #2 from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue. Don't forget the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine is also available in this catalogue.  The flower on the front is called a Spiral flower and I found a tutorial here  at Rae Barthel's blog Simply Rae.
Supplies:
Stamps: None
Card and Papers: Groovy Guava, Ginger Blossom DP
Ink: None
Embellishments: Ribbon, Magnetic Circles, Jumbo Brads
Tools: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Scalloped and Classic Circle Nestabilities, Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Aquadhere Glue, 3" Marvy Uchida Circle Punch, Scissors, Crop-a-dile, Fiskers Paper Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Tweezers

This box uses four Scallop Envelope cut outs.  You need to cut one of the flaps off on each one on the same side, before assembly.  I made the box so the inside is the right side of the card  and added the designer paper to finish off the sides.
Supplies:
Stamps: None
Card and Paper: Groovy Guava (R), Ginger Blossom DP (R)
Ink: None
Embellishments: Groovy Guava Double Stitched Ribbon (R)
Tools: Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Die, Double Sided tape, Fiskers Paper Trimmer and Scoring Tool

The roses are attached to a panel that slides into the bowl and I have added a stand at the back so the card will stand up.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin' Up's Cottage Rose 1999 (R), Wild Rose 2006 (R), Tiny Tags
Card: Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Old Olive
