Today I wanted to share with you a walk my family joined last Wednesday night called "Light the Night" for the Leukemia Foundation here in Perth Western Australia to raise funds to try and find a cure for Lymphoma and Myeloma. Unfortunately in June our eldest daughter Natasha was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and my Mother died of Myeloma nearly 13 years ago.

My Family
It has been a difficult time for our family coming to terms with this illness. My husband and I have been going to Perth nearly every week to see our daughter and this has been the reason for my sporadic posting of posts and not following a lot of the challenges. I have been determined to continue with my Design Team commitment on Dynamic Duos and to do a few challenges along the way because I love my Paper crafting and hopefully I will be able to continue.
Natasha has been undergoing Chemo and will continue for six months and then she will have Radiation treatment every day for 5 weeks. If all goes well she will be finished sometime in March 2013 and the Doctor predict's that she will be in remission and hopefully will be cured. So far Natasha has responded to her fortnightly treatment and the Cancer has reduced in size. It is not without it's side effects, the continual feeling of nausea and tiredness, loosing over 20 kilos and her hair, just a few, but Natasha is still very positive and that is good. Natasha and her Husband have been very lucky to have some amazing friends and family, that have cooked meals for them and helped with the pick up and delivery of their children to school and child care, a big Thank You to them.So where ever you are I hope you are well and healthy and enjoying life to the fullest.
Hugs,
Susan, I'm so sorry your family is going through this difficult time. Sending best wishes and positive thoughts to Natasha to help her peel this onion. Take care.

ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with your daughter and family. I have non hodgkins lymphoma. Was in remission for 1 1/2 yrs but has returned. Learning to live with it since they can't cure it, just treat it. I know how hard your daughter is fighting and am sure she WILL win! Stay strong.
