It's the 1st of June and we have a fun new Challenge at CAS Mix Up, I am Host and challenging you to use Embossed Vellum. We welcome Bonnie as our Guest Designer this month.
We also have some changes happening, a new Design for the Blog and a new Format, some New Design Team Members, and Loll has decided to combine the CAS Mix Up, Water colouring and Stencil challenges into one. Each month will be a different technique style and repeated. The Christmas Challenge will remain.
After Heat embossing the flower with Orange E/Powder I used a stylus to emboss the image from the reverse side, using waxed paper to help improve the movement of the stylus. I love how the Vellum puffs up and changes it's colour giving the image a 3D look. I then backed the flower with an Orange mat and die cut the circle sandwiching it to the front of my card. I finished off with the Heat Embossed Sentiment and Stamping on the inside of my card.

Wow this is so pretty Susan and what a striking effect with using the stylus on the vellum x.
ReplyDeleteWOW Susan! The orange is such a striking colour and your embossing of that lush flower is soooooo good! Great card. x
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card with this gorgeous bloom as a focal point. Great challenge too, loved having fun with the vellum. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat heat embossing makes the flower look lovely and frilly and the dry embossing with the stylus, adds depth and dimension. I love the sentiment in the same orange and the little flower detail inside. Great choice of challenge, I enjoyed this one. Thanks xx
ReplyDeleteA great challenge, Sue! Love your flower and the contrast between the white embossed vellum and orange embossing!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty Sue! I love the dimension of your vellum flower with the orange outline. I've had a great time playing with vellum ... thanks so much for hosting this awesome challenge! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the warm welcome and especially for the reminder to have fun with vellum. It is so under used and rated. Your creation here is the perfect example. Where else could you get this effect? Plus your heat embossed sentiment makes the colors play happy together.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful heat embossed and stylus embossed vellum flower, Sue. I had so much fun playing with vellum because of you and the helpful videos you shared. It is wonderful to be back on the CAS Mix Up Challenge again. TFS your beauty and again for hosting an awesome challenge:-) Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bright embossing on your pretty vellum bloom!I love working with vellum, so thanks for this fun challenge theme:)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so pretty Sue. Great dimension on that beautiful flower.
ReplyDeleteI don't use a lot of vellum but when I do I love the effect. Thanks for hosting such a fun challenge xx
What a gorgeous embossed vellum bloom, Susan! The bright and shiny orange heat-embossing, the white embossed petals, and the translucent orange of the circle window are so effective, interesting, and yet simple!
