Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event - Perth Regionals 25th August, 2012 Part 5

Hello Friends,
Today I am showing you the last item I made for Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event in Perth.  I used a Metal CD Container and decorated it for a Wedding incorporating a pocket for Money or a Gift Card on the inside.  I found that I needed to use the Embossing Buddy to stop the embossing powder from sticking to the tin around the outside of the stamped image.  I made sure I had a lot of the Embossing buddy powder on the tin before stamping.  If one of the images didn't stamp well  I removed the Versamark and Embossing powder with a tissue with some Isocol Rubbing Alchol. It cleaned the surface beautifully, let it dry and start again.

Supplies:
Metal CD Container
Stamps: S/U's I (Heart) Hearts, Marry Me, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Whisper White
Ink: Versamark
Finishing Touches: White Organdy Ribbon, Bakers Twine
Tools: Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Pewter E/Powder, Big Shot, Sizzix Polka Dot E/Folder, Eyelet Border Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Fiskars Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits, Word Window Punch, Crop-a-dile, Dble Sided Tape
Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you have enjoyed my series of projects using the Heat Tool.

Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event - Perth Regionals 25th August, 2012 - Part 4

Hi Crafters,
Today I have a few more cards that I made for Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event in Perth.  I stamped the flowers on the first card on Vellum and embossed them with White Embossing Powder.  I then punched the flowers again in Whisper White  and backed them behind the Vellum and cut them to shape.
Embossing on Vellum
Supplies:
Stamps:  S/U's Mixed Bunch, Four Frames, Petite Pairs
Card: Whisper White, Vellum
Inks: Versamark
Finishing Touches: White Organdy Ribbon, Pearls from Pretties Kit (R)
Tools: Big Shot, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, White E/Powder, Pewter E/Powder, Decorative Label Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Sizzix Polka Dot E/Folder, Blossom Punch, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, 2 Way Glue Pen, Fiskars Trimmer and Scoring Tool
Ribbon Flower Created with the Heat Tool, Basic Embossing

The Ribbon Flower Tutorial by Kelly Acheson can be found here.
I did find that the Organdy Ribbon is very sensetive to heat and you need to hold your heat tool a bit further away so you don't cook it.  The Satin Ribbon is less heat sensative and needs a warmer heat to make it curl.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Marry Me, Tiny Tags
Card: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Stazon Black
Finishing Touches: White Organdy Ribbon, Brad
Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Vintage Wallpaper E/Folder, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Tag Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Sticky Strip, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Pewter E/Powder, Fiskars Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dot
Thanks for dropping by today.

Dynamic Duos #18 - Flowers that Dazzle

Happy Weekend Everyone,
Today's post is for this weeks Dynamic Duo's Challenge to use the Bold and Sassy colours of Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade.  At Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event in Perth last weekend, Charmaine Black presented a WOW presentation on the "Dazzling Lights Technique". It is new to me and I decided to try this technique for my card. It certainly is a fun technique to do and packs a punch, unfortunately my photo does not do great justice to my card, it is much prettier in real life and really dazzles. Charmaine is working on a video showing how to do this technique, and when it is finished you can find it here. At my time of posting Charmaine hadn't posted the tutorial, but hopefully it will be up soon. Okay, hop on over to the Dynamic Duos blog and check out the rest of the Design Teams cards and the other entries for this weeks challenge.
I used Stamp pads to create the Dazzling Lights technique for my card, but you can also use re-inkers.  I kept my colours separate for this project, but you usually blend them slightly.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Embrace Life (R), Betsy's Blossoms, Afterthoughts
Card and Papers: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Shiny Silver Card, Window Sheets, DSP Patterns Stack In Colour 2011/13, DSP Paper Patterns Pack - In Colour 2012
Ink: Stazon Black, Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Gelly Roll Pen
Finishing Touches: Crystals, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon
Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Framelits - Apothecary Accents, Scallop Border Punch, Multi Mat, Sizzix Stripes E/F, Aluminium Foil, Dazzling Diamonds, Crystal Effects,  Brayer, Sponge, Dimensionals, Dble Sided Tape, Mini Glue Dots

Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event - Perth Regionals 25th August, 2012 Part 2 Emerging Colour Technique

Hello Friends,
Today I am showing you some more of the projects I designed for Stampin' Up's Perth Regionals. These cards are more technique based and show another way you can use the Heat Tool. I used the very bright In Colours for 2012/2014 and Betsy's Blossom Stamp Set.
Emerging Colour Technique

For this technique you stamp your card all over with the colours and images you want to use. In this case I used the smaller flowers from Betsy's Blossoms.  Then you use a stamp preferably a larger stamp that has a large area and ink it up with Versamark, stamp it and apply Clear embossing powder, heat set it with your tool.  When you have finished doing this step you brayer or sponge ink all over the card.  I have used one of the darker colours which helps to blend in the colours that have not been covered with Versamark and the Clear embossing powder. Then you rub off the colour with a tissue where you have embossed and the colours you first stamped emerge through.  Then it is just a matter of building your card and adding extra images and embellishments.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Betsy's Blossoms
Card: Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White, Gumball Green
Ink: Versamark, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse
Finishing Touches: Gumball Green Stitched Ribbon, Crystals

Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Event - Perth Regionals 25th August, 2012 Part 1

Hi Stampers,
I guess you have noticed my absence from posting. I have been busy prepping for last Saturday's Perth Regionals. So in today's post I am featuring some of the items I made for the Product Playground that I participated in.  I was on the Heat Tool table showing off the new Heat Tool that Stampin' Up are selling and the new yummy smelling Embossing Powders "Sugar and Spice" and "Peppermint Stick".  We also had other embossing powders and the new In Colour Stamp Pads for 2012/14.  I made these projects before the day for a Display around the Heat Tool Tables.  Most items feature the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and Be of Good Cheer Designer Paper.

Dynamic Duos #17 - Butterfly

Happy Weekend Everyone,
For this week, Dynamic Duos challenge is to use the beautiful Mono-chromatic colours of Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush. I stamped and sponged the white matt and then embossed it with the Finial Press embossing folder. After I had cut out the large butterfly I crimped it with my Crimper before assembling it.  For the sentiment I cut strips of card and DSP and used the 1 1/4" Square Punch to cut the ends and finished my card with a row of pearls. For the inside I used DSP and a thin strip of Concord Crush on the bottom edge.

Hello Friends,
As a Winner for the Merry Monday Sketch Challenge for July, Lesley has invited me to be a Guest Designer this week.  I moved the focal point and bow to the opposite sides. The DSP was also matted on black to give it more definition.  I added the sentiment, stitched ribbon and a die cut from Memory Box called Star of Wonder to finish off the inside of my card.   Pop on over to Lesley's blog and check out the rules and sketch and come play with us.
