Merry Monday #141 - Christmas Critters

Hello Stampers,
It's Monday and that means we have this weeks Merry Monday Challenge to show and inspire you.  This week Katie is our Hostess and she wants us to use Christmas Critters to create our card. I decided to use this fun Koala stamp from Happy Christmas Mate and because it's not a large stamp I went with different profiles to give the card more interest.  I embossed the background with Stylish Stripes and made a banner with the Greetings stamp and coloured the die cut I received from Karren Johnson in a Secret Santa envelope.  Thanks Karren!

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Happy Christmas Mate, Simon Says Stamps - Holiday Layered Trees
Card: Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Stazon Black
Markers: Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, Smokey Slate
Finishing Touches: Dazzling Diamonds
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Stylish Stripes E/Folder, Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Christmas Dies, 1 1/4" Square Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals, 2 Way Glue Pen

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #1 - Santa's Hug

Dear Friends,
As you might have noticed on my blog sidebar I have been invited by Shery Russ to join her Inaugral Design Team for the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge.  I think I might find it quite challenging at times, but I like a challenge and I am excited to be showing you my card for our first challenge.
The format for the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge is " Anything goes each week with an Optional Twist to use Red".   If you enter cards with the twist, you get an entry into the monthly random drawing for a prize. 1 card with the twist = 1 entry; players can enter as many times as they want. Check out the Guidelines for the challenge here.
For my card today I have used a card base, stamped my image and coloured with Blendabilities.  I added Washi Tape along the bottom edge, scored either side of my sentiment and finished off with some sequins and crystal effects on Santa's glasses.

Supplies:
Stamps: Penny Black - Holiday Hugs, S/U's Sassy Salutations
Card: Whisper White
Ink: Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
Blendabilities: Cherry Cobbler, Blush, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy
Finishing Touches: Washi Tape, Clear Sequins, Crystal Effects
Cool Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Simply Scored Tool, Tombow Multi Purpose Glue

Merry Monday # 137 - Christmas Holly

Hello Stampers,
This week Deanne is our Hostess at Merry Monday and she is challenging us to Use a Bird on our cards.  I have used the beautiful bird and holly stamp from Stampin' Up's Beautiful Season.  I have had this stamp set since it first came out and I don't think I have inked it up until now, no idea why as it it a lovely image.  I used Blendabilities to colour the image. I still need a bit of practise when I go outside the lines to clean up but I find the colour bleeds very easily.  The mat colour Primrose Petals is a bit off, much brighter in the photo than it really is, it does match the Pinky Red in the DSP.  I used a crystal for the birds eye and the Early Espresso Bakers Twine for some added interest. The sentiment is popped up on dimensionals and stamped with Always Artichoke.  Hope you can join us this week, we would love you to play along.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Beautiful Season, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card and Papers: Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Primrose Petals, Kaisercraft Christmas Carol DSP
Ink: Memento Black, Always Artichoke
Blendabilities: Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Smokey Slate
Finishing Touches: Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Crystal
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangle Dies, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals
Thanks for dropping by today.
