Stamperoo's Swap March 2010 - Our Little Blessing

Hi everyone,
Today's post is a 6 x 6 scrap page that I made for Stamperoo's Swap for March. I scrapped our newest family member Jenna Rochelle.  I love this photo she looks so peaceful and relaxed. I went with a monochromatic colour scheme and used Pink Pirouette which created a softness to match her skin. To add a bit of contrast I sponged the edge of some of the elements to give more definition.  The ribbon tab pulls out to reveal the journaling on a small tag.
Supplies:
Stamps: None
Card: Pink Piroutte, Patterns DS Papers Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette

Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #9 - Train's A Comin'

Hi everyone,
Today's post is for the Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge this week.  I had heaps of fun putting this card together, it is the first time I have used Stampin' Up!'s Choo Choo Set.  After using the wheel to make the tracks I stamped the train twice, once in black on the main image area and again on some extra card in red.  The main parts of the train were cut out and are mounted on dimensionals.  The clouds were sponged with Bashful Blue around a scallop circle punch out and in between the tracks  in Going Grey and on the front edge in Old Olive.

Stamps: S/U's Choo Choo S/S, Vintage Labels, Right on Track Standard Wheel, Weathered Background stamp

Craig's 30th Birthday

Hello everyone,
For today's post I have made a Men's wallet for our Son-in-Law's 30th Birthday.  It is a quick and easy project to make.  I cut the main piece at 22.5cm x 9.5cm. Scored at 11cm and 11.5cm to give the wallet a spine and rounded the corners with the Corner Rounder Punch.  Embossed with the Provo Craft Tiny Mosaic Embossing folder from both sides to the spine.  If you need to touch up the embossing, line the folder up with the embossed part and use an embossing stylus to touch up any bits that have flattened.  The inside pockets are 10cm x 6cm.  Tag base is 8.5cm x 6cm.  I used sticky strip to glue eveything together, pierced around the front edge of the wallet on the outside and the inside tag, sponged the edges, added the Round Tab and brads to the tag inside.  I could have inked up the outside embossing with Versarmark and applied Clear Embossing Powder and used the heat tool to set the EB, but I liked the matte finish.  Let me know if you like it.
Supplies:
Stamps: None
Card: Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Embellishments: Brads
Tools: Corner Rounder Punch, Round Tab Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Cuttlebug, Provo Craft Tiny Mosaic EB Folder, 1 5/8" Classic Circle Nestibility, Provo Craft Olivia Alphabet, Mat Pack & Piercing Tool, Sponge, Stick Strip, 2 Way Glue Pen, S/U's Cutter Tool, Fiskars Cutter and Scoring Blade, Computer and Printer for Sentiment, Dimensionals

Sympathy Cards - Brian Leslie Tripp 27/4/1937 - 23/2/2010

Hi there.
For today's post I have made a couple of sympathy cards.  Unfortunately our Brother In Law passed away last week after a short battle with cancer and these are for his family.  He was such a fit and healthy man, 72 years old and worked hard physically all his life and only retired in the last twelve months.  He was a Volunteer for the Fire Brigade and Saint John Ambulance for all the time I have known him and he still played a very active roll in both organisations. His family and the people of our small country town will miss his dedication to us all.
I printed off a card by Karen Thomas some time ago when she was on the design team  for Inkspirations with the intention of casing it, so this is my version.
Supplies:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Flight of the Butterfly, Warmest Regards (R)
Card: Kraft, Whisper White, Mellow Moss
Ink: Mellow Moss, Sahara Sand
Embellishments: Ribbon, Linen Thread
Tools: S/U's Butterfly Punch, Cuttlebug, Trio Tags Nestabilities, Sponge, Dimensionals
My second card  was cased from Marelle Taylor with a couple of minor changes.

Supplies:
Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers
Card: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Urban Garden DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Chocolate Stitched Ribbon, Brads, Accents & Elements Felt Flowers
Tools: Small and Large Oval Punches, Needle and Thread, Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Dimensionals, Computer and Printer for Sentiment.
Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by today.

Monthly Calendar Challenge - March 2010

Hello Everyone,
Time for another Monthly Calendar Challenge. The 1st of March is the beginning of Autumn in the southern hemisphere. The leaves are changing colour on the deciduous trees and begin to fall, the paddocks turn green after some much needed rain and the weather is a lot milder.
So the theme for March is Autumn.
My calendar's are very traditionaly Autumn, so I will be very interest to see how you interpret this month's challenge.  For my first calendar I have used one of my cute cat images from Whipper Snapper Designs. I stamped the image three times and coloured them with my markers and aqua painter. The heap of leaves was cut out and raised on dimsensionals for a 3D effect, then a few leaves here and there were cut out and layered on top . I embossed the Provo Craft Leafy Branch down one side of the calendar and coloured it with Stampin' Pastels.  I used the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice Border punch  for a border on the designer paper then applied it with the ribbon and brads. After creating the calendar in Publisher I attached it with dimensionals.
Supplies:
Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs Fall Fun Kitty
Card and Designer Paper: Very Vanilla, Holiday Treasures DP, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Stazon Black, Creamy Caramel, More Mustard, Really Rust, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Basic Grey, Pretty In Pink Markers, Stampin' Pastels
Embellishments: Ribbon, Brads
Tools: Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Martha Stewart Arch Lattice Punch, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Cuttlebug, Leafy Branch EB Folder, Computer and Printer
I was only going to do one calendar for March until I saw the cover of the new Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. I love the colours used so I based this calendar on the cover. It would have been wonderful to have the new products to make this one, but I had to improvise with some retired stamp sets.  I found the quote on the Internet and reproduced it on a tag. I wanted to highlight the A of Autumn so I used my Cuttlebug and Olivia Alphabet, cut two in different colours one lighter than the other and layered them which made the A pop.  Some of the leaves were inked up with Versamark and dusted with clear embossing powder and then heat set.  Others were inked on the versarmark stamp pad and then inked on coloured stamp pads to create a more autumn effect, dusted with embossing powder and heat set.  I used the air brush (spritzer) and markers to dirty the tag and calendar up a bit and the cutter tool and some scissors to make the edges rustic. The background was embossed with Provo Crafts Forest Branches EB Folder. I curled the leaves with a pencil and attached them with dimensionals.
Supplies:
Stamps: Fantastic Foliage (R), Botanicals (R)
Card and Designer Paper:  Ruby Red, More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Ruby Red Markers
Ink: Versamark, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke, Close to Cocoa
Embellishments: Jumbo Button Latte, Chocolate Stitched Ribbon
Tools: Crop-a-dile, Dimensionals, Cutter Tool, Scissors, Pinking Shears, Computer and Printer, Colour Spritzer Tool
I would love you to join in my Monthly Calendar Challenge, so c'mon and have a go and let me know which one you like most.
Thanks for stopping by today,
Hugs.

Just Add Ink Challenge #5 - Office Tidy

Hello friends,
Today's post is for the JAI #5 Challenge, adding Dimension to you project. This project has been sitting on my desk unfinished so it was a good challenge to inspire me to finish if off. I designed it with an easel top, added a calendar as the stopper and divided the draw into four sections.

Edited to add the link for the Desktop Calendar Box Tutorial by Tammy Maxwell found here. I found that I had to change the Box Wrapper scoring line 10 3/4" to 10 1/2" to make the box square (it is the last measurement for that piece of card.  I made the draw insert by measuring the area, adding the amount for the upright piece in the centre and scoring. You need to cut the top piece to the upright section on both sides where you want the sections and then cut the upright section on the other piece only, there being two pieces of card one on top of the other.  If you went to Stampin' Up' regionals they showed how to do it for the little tag box.  Hope these directions makes sense.

Supplies:
Stamps: Click a Bella
Card and Paper:  Real Red, Whisper White, Dashing DP (R)
Ink: Stazon Black, Basic Grey, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Real Red and Certainly Celery Markers, Gelly Roll Pen
Embellishments: Brads, Clips, Flower Brads, Real Red and White Grossgrain Ribbon
Tools: Cuttlebug, Provo Craft Harmony Alphabet, Classic Square Scalloped Rectangle Nestability, Computer and Printer for calendar, Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Fiskars Cutter and Scoring Tool, Glue
Hope you like it.
