Just Add Ink Challenge # 17 - Red Fish

Hi there,
Today's post is for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge.  The JAI Design Team had a blog hop on the 14th May and included some different techniques at each blog.  For this weeks challenge participants are to choose one or more of the techniques and make an item, I have gone with Chantell Randall's Alcohol and Re-inker's technique. I used glossy card for my design with Brillant Blue, Taken With Teal, Tempting Turquiose and Metallic Silver reinkers.  I also used another stamping technique for the Sea grass.  You ink up your stamp using Versarmark , then stamp on your Classic coloured stamp pad and sprinkle on clear embossing powder to create a raised image. Then heat set it for some definition and this is how you add colour using Stampin' Ups! Classic Stamp pads which are soluable in water.  The fish were stamped in Real Red and then I added some Dazzling Diamonds to bling them up a bit.
Supplies
Card: Glossy White, Tempting Turquiose, Brillant Blue
Ink: Real Red, Brillant Blue, Tempting Turquiose, Taken With Teal, Metallic Silver, Versamark, Garden Green
Embellishments: Black Pearl, Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds
Tools: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Provo Craft Tiny Bubbles EB Folder, Dimensionals, Glue, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Scissors, Rubbing Alcohol, Cotton Wool
Thanks for stopping by today.

Top Note Purse and Scalloped Envelope Box

Hi there,
For today I have a couple of projects to show how versatile the Top Note Die and Scalloped Envelope Die are.  I used my Nestabilities for the flap on the purse but you could also use the Scallop Circle and Circles #2 from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue. Don't forget the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine is also available in this catalogue.  The flower on the front is called a Spiral flower and I found a tutorial here  at Rae Barthel's blog Simply Rae.
Supplies:
Stamps: None
Card and Papers: Groovy Guava, Ginger Blossom DP
Ink: None
Embellishments: Ribbon, Magnetic Circles, Jumbo Brads
Tools: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Scalloped and Classic Circle Nestabilities, Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Aquadhere Glue, 3" Marvy Uchida Circle Punch, Scissors, Crop-a-dile, Fiskers Paper Trimmer and Scoring Tool, Tweezers

This box uses four Scallop Envelope cut outs.  You need to cut one of the flaps off on each one on the same side, before assembly.  I made the box so the inside is the right side of the card  and added the designer paper to finish off the sides.
Supplies:
Stamps: None
Card and Paper: Groovy Guava (R), Ginger Blossom DP (R)
Ink: None
Embellishments: Groovy Guava Double Stitched Ribbon (R)

Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge # 21 - Bowl of Roses

Hello everyone,
Today's post is for Makeesha's Inspiration Challenge #21.  I saw this idea on a blog hop at Judy May's blog  and loved it so much that I have cased her card and changed the embossing folder, stamp sets, colours, sentiment and added more roses.  Instead of the usual flower pot a bowl shape has been used for the base. The roses are attached to a panel that slides into the bowl and I have added a stand at the back so the card will stand up.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin' Up's Cottage Rose 1999 (R), Wild Rose 2006 (R), Tiny Tags
Card: Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Old Olive

Monthly Calendar Challenge - May 2010 - Just Add Ink #14 - Just Add Vintage

Hi there,
Today's post is for my Monthly Calendar Challenge for May.  As Mother's Day is in May and maybe it's your Birthday, Anniversary or another special occasion it is always lovely to receive flowers so:
The theme for May is Say it With Flowers.
I designed my first calendar to fit in with the Just Add Ink #14 - Just Add Vintage challenge
It is the first time I have made these frilly flowers out of punches and I have used the Scallop Circle Punch and the Boho Blossom largest flower for the smaller flowers. For the larger flower I used 8 punched shapes and five for the smaller ones.  I pleated the kraft strip of designer paper and used the sewing machine to add some stitching. I stamped off the Medallion stamp once before stamping onto my card and sponged all the edges to add some age.
Supplies:
Stamps:  Medallion, Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel
Card and Paper:  Kraft, Very Vanilla, Brocade Blue, Bella Blue DP
Ink: Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Brocade Blue
Embellishments: Pearl Brad, Silver Brad, Pearl Buckle, Bluebird Ribbon (R)
Tools:  Big Shot, Labels 4 Nestabilities, Multi Mat, Sponge, Dimensionals, Scallop Circle Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Sewing Machine, Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Computer and Printer
For my second calendar I used Flourishes Chrysanthemum's  from a set called "Calendar Set 3". I love to work with red and white as a colour theme.

Supplies:
Stamps: Flourishes Calendar Set 3
Card:  Real Red, Whisper White
Ink:  Stazon Black
Markers: Real Red, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue
Embellishments: Crystal Brad, Crystals, Real Red Ribbon
Tools:  Big Shot, Blossom Nestability, Computer and Printer, Crop-a-dile, Martha Stewart Arch Punch, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter
Unfortunately my challenge for April had no takers, so I intend to continue with my own calendars hoping to inspire some of you to join in.
I hope you have enjoyed my calendars for May, I enjoyed creating them, let me know if you like them.
Happy Stamping,
Hugs,

ESAD Mother's Day Blog Hop - Asian Artistry

Good Morning everyone!
I hope you’re ready for today's ESAD Blog Hop! Better go grab yourself a cuppa as you’ll be hopping for a while! There are fifteen blogs in today's Mother's Day hop.
What is ESAD you say?
ESAD stands for Extra Special Australian (and New Zealand) Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrator's for Stampin’ Up!
We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when its needed.
So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Ok on with the Hop!!  You should have arrived from Jane Norrish's wonderful blog and her beautiful designs with Autumn Days.
I based my theme on the Asian Artistry clear mount stamp set. My lantern was an idea from the Paper Crafters Sampler April 2010 issue and Cherie Franklin. Thanks to Andrea Buckland and Melanie Schulenberg for helping me access the Sampler and my daughter Fiona for helping me make the roof of the lantern.  I resized the lantern to my own specifications, it is larger than the Paper Crafters lantern.  The base uses an A4 sheet of card and the roof uses an A5 sheet of card.  The two pillow boxes are made using the Top Note Die and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. The smaller one is a straight forward template cut with the die. The second one is made by folding the Designer Paper in half before cutting and placing it just below the end cutting line on one side.  I made the little lanterns with the Circle Circus stamp set. I wanted to use non traditional colours for my Asian theme and decided to go with one of the new Stampin' Up! In Colours Soft Suede combined with Sahara Sand and Antique Gold.  The idea was for a dramatic, elegant combination of projects and I love how they came together.

Supplies:
Stamps: Asian Artistry, Circle Circus
Card and Paper: Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Metallic Gold, Autumn Traditions DP
Ink: Soft Suede
Embellishments: Gold Tassel, Gold Cord (R), Gold Organdy Ribbon (R), Soft Suede Grossgrain Ribbon
Tools: Scallop Edge Punch, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Fiskars Cutter and Scorer, Dimensionals, Sponge, 1" Circle Punch, Crimper, Small and Large Oval Punches
Don't forget to leave your comments on all the blogs and you could win  some of the Blog Candy, lots on offer this time.  Once you have completed the hop email Sharlene Torres (sharlene@hotmail.com) and let her know you have finished the hop and commented on all the blogs.
Now on with the hop, the next blog to visit is Keryn Campbell from New Zealand and her amazing designs with the Top Note Die.
There will be another ESAD Blog Hop for Mother's Day on the 29th April for the rest of the participants starting with Sharlene Meyer.
Hope you enjoyed my creations I just love to challenge myself to see what I can create.  Do stop by my blog again soon.
Happy Stamping!
