Monthly Calendar Challenge February 2011 - A New Decade

Hello Friends,
I have made this months calendar to celebrate my Birthday and the fact that I am entering a new decade in my life.   February 14th is Valentines Day, and my husband and I also celebrate our 38th Wedding Anniversary on the 5th so I have added a couple of embossed hearts. My Zodiac Sign is the Water Carrier so I am an Aquarian and my Birthstone is an Amethest so I used Whisper White, Lavender Lace and Concord Crush for my colour combination.
As I have had no one participate in my challenge last month I have decided not to set a theme this month (I am wondering if I am making it to difficult for you to come up with ideas, I would appreciate some feed back). I have noticed that lots of visitors to my blog visit my monthly calendar posts and check them out, so there is some interest. So for the moment I will continue to indulge myself and keep Inlinkz open if you would like to add your own February calendar.
Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Party Hearty, Simple Serif Alphabet and Numbers, Artee Stamps SP517H Brush Presents, Amazing Creations D752 Present, Papertrey Ink Piece of Cake
Card and Papers:  Whisper White, Lavender Lace, Concord Crush, Patterns Print - In Colours  DSP
Ink: Concord Crush, Versamark

Just Add Ink #53 Inspiration Challenge - Timeworn Sunflower

Hi there,
Today's post is for this weeks Inspiration Challenge at Just Add Ink.  I have pulled out a stamp set that I acquired some years ago "Stampin' Up's Definately Decorative Summer Sunflower" that I am ashamed to say I have very rarely used. I was inspired to imitate the sunflower and used this old stamp set from the year 2000. I layered the Sunflower and the book, cut a sliver of card to thread through the button and curl. The Designer Paper is from Stampin' Up's Timeworn Collection - Weathered also retired. This is a very timeless approach to the inspiration, I do have a more modern idea which I might come back with later.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's DD Summer Sunflower (R), En Francais BG, Papertrey Ink Little Lady
Card: Whisper White,Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Cake Crumb, S/U's Timeworn Collection DSP Weathered (R)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Creamy Caramel (R), Early Espresso, Cake Crumb, Wild Wasabi, Pear Pizzazz
Embellishments: Brads, Button, Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon
Tools: Big Shot, Spellbinders Labels Seven Nestabilities, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Photo Corner Punch, Sponges
Thanks for taking a peek today.

Pals Paper Arts #77 Sketch Challenge - Cupcake Girl

Greetings All,
Today's post is for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch challenge this week, including Fabric or Ribbon as an element. I changed the sketch's direction for my card. I used the flowery Fozz felt which I have had for ages and made a felt flower with My Favourite Things Die-namics Flower Die.  Because our cardstock is A4 in size the S/U embossing folders don't quite fit an A5 card so instead of cutting the extra off I embossed  straight lines accross the bottom edge, which are hard to see, but it finished off the card nicely.  I used the Labels Eight die to make the mat for the main image by cutting around the outside edge of the same frame I used to cut out the image. The main image was sponged while the Labels Eight Nestability was still in place and for the finishing touch I added some pearls.
Supplies:
Stamps: Digi Image CC Designs Cupcake Kiki
Card and Papers: Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Patterns Papers II (R)
Markers:  So Saffron, Rose Red, Pretty In Pink, Creamy Caramel (R), Blush Blossom
Embellishments: Fozz Felt, Felt, Pearls
Tools: Big Shot, Petals A Plenty EB Folder, Labels Eight Nestabilities, My Favourite Things Die-namics Flower Die, Fiskars Embossing Tool, Dimensionals, Sponges, Tombow Multi Glue
Thank's for stopping by today. Happy stamping!

Curtin Call Colour Challenge Act 65 - Colourful Vintage

Hello there,
Today's post is for the Curtin Call Collour challenge this week. I used one layer for the base and then stamped the flowers in the different colours and cut them out. I mounted them at different levels to give the card more depth. I punched and layered the bottom edge of the card and sponged the edges for some softness and added some pearls to the centres of the flowers. Although the colours are fairly bright I think it has a vintage feel, but maybe that is down to the stamps I used. LOL.
Supplies:
Stamps:  S/U's Vintage Vogue, Elements of Style
Card: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point
Embellishments: White Satin Ribbon, Pearls
Tools: EK Success Double Crochet Lace Punch, Sponges, Dimensionals, Scissors, Double Sided Tape, Jones Gloopy Glue
Thank's for poppin in today.
