Just Add Ink Challenge #5 - Office Tidy

Hello friends,
Today's post is for the JAI #5 Challenge, adding Dimension to you project. This project has been sitting on my desk unfinished so it was a good challenge to inspire me to finish if off. I designed it with an easel top, added a calendar as the stopper and divided the draw into four sections.

Edited to add the link for the Desktop Calendar Box Tutorial by Tammy Maxwell found here. I found that I had to change the Box Wrapper scoring line 10 3/4" to 10 1/2" to make the box square (it is the last measurement for that piece of card.  I made the draw insert by measuring the area, adding the amount for the upright piece in the centre and scoring. You need to cut the top piece to the upright section on both sides where you want the sections and then cut the upright section on the other piece only, there being two pieces of card one on top of the other.  If you went to Stampin' Up' regionals they showed how to do it for the little tag box.  Hope these directions makes sense.

Supplies:
Stamps: Click a Bella
Card and Paper:  Real Red, Whisper White, Dashing DP (R)
Ink: Stazon Black, Basic Grey, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Real Red and Certainly Celery Markers, Gelly Roll Pen
Embellishments: Brads, Clips, Flower Brads, Real Red and White Grossgrain Ribbon
Tools: Cuttlebug, Provo Craft Harmony Alphabet, Classic Square Scalloped Rectangle Nestability, Computer and Printer for calendar, Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Fiskars Cutter and Scoring Tool, Glue
Hope you like it.

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #18 - Cruisin...

Hi there,
I decided to use this boat from Seaworthy for the first time. I don't think it has been used very much by anyone, I could only find a couple of cards that have used the image on Splitcoast. I feel it has worked with the colour challenge although I found I needed to use Very Vanilla to give it a lift between each layer. I used liquid applique on the surf and sprinkled it with hologram sparkle embossing powder.
Supplies:
Stamps: SU's Seaworthy, Vintage Labels
Card and Papers: Brocade Blue, Mellow Moss, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla, Patterns Pack II Hostess Level 1
Ink: Stazon Black, Brocade Blue, Ruby Red, Mellow Moss
Embellishments: Brads
Tools: Cuttlebug, Classic Circles Nestabilities, Photo Corner Punch, Word Window Punch, Mat Pack and Piercing Tool, Liquid Applique, Hologram Sparkle EB Powder, Sponge, Heat Tool, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter
Thanks for stopping by,

Love is like a Butterfly.............

Good Afternoon,
Todays post is for the ESAD - SU Group challenge this week.  The challenge is to use the Australian Summer Mini Catalogue, page 13 the Pumpkin Pie card as your inspiration.  So this is what I came up with.
I stamped the butterflies and then cut around one of the wings so I could stand it up, layered the card, after punching the eyelet border.  I stamped the sentiment with Versarmark punched two scallop ovals in different colours to offset the sentiment against the eggplant and make it pop. The dark eggplant card behind the cut out wing also makes the butterfly pop.
Supplies:
Stamps:  Butterfly Prints
Card and Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Lavender Lace
Ink: Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant, Versermark
Embellishments: White Satin Ribbon
Tools: Scalloped Oval Punch, Cutting Mat and Knife, Eyelet Border Punch, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots EB Folder, White EP, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals
Hope youy like it.
Hugs.

Mojo Monday Sketch #123

Hi there,
Today's post is for the Mojo Monday Sketch this week.  I also used the Colour Challenge (to use Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive) for a new stamping Group I signed up with ESAD-SU (Extra Special Australian and New Zealand Demonstrators) .

After cutting the card and papers I sewed them onto the Bashful Blue base. I punched 5 1" circles to make the button and then pierced the holes into it. I applied glue over the top piece and sprinkled it with the fine glitter. For the flower I cut a thin strip of card, punched it with the Eyelet border Punch, crimped the whole strip and then draged the piece of card over the White Craft Ink Pad to give it more dimension. For the leaves I punched them out with the Small Oval Punch, scored them in the centre, then crimped them at an angle.
Supplies:
Stamps: SU's On Your Birthday
Card & Paper: Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Sweet Always DP, Holiday Treasures DP
Ink: Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive Markers, Riding Hood Red Stamp Pad, Craft White Stamp Pad
Embellishments: Brads, Fine Glitter, Hemp, Ribbon
Tools: Sewing Machine, Mat Pack & Piercing Tool, Scallop Edge Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Glue, Dimensionals, Crimper, Small Oval Punch, 1 3/4" Punch, Pop Up and Mini Glue Dots
I enjoyed playing with these colours and doing the sketch, hope you like it.

Monthly Calendar Challenge - February 2010

Hi there,
It's time for another Monthly Calendar Challenge.  Of course February is a special month with a lot of love in the air as it includes Valentine's Day. For me it is more than that as I celebrate 37 years married to my wonderful husband and it's also includes my Birthday. This February we will have another special event to celebrate as we welcome a new Grandchild.

Edited to Add:  I have also linked this post to the Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Hearts, my two Calendar pages fit the Challenge.

So drumroll.........................

February's Monthly Calendar Challenge is - Love and Romance.

Love and Romance for me means Red Roses, Chocolates and lots of Love, my husband is a true romantic and has always spoilt me throughout our marriage at this time of year.  I have made two Calendar's for February's challenge.  For the first one I tried to keep it simple and a definite border around the edge.
Supplies:
Stamps: SU's Priceless, I (Heart) Hearts, Penny Black - The Look of Love 2815K, Artee Stamps - AS666B Hugs and Kisses, Love Unknown
Card & Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Pretty In Pink

Embellishments: None
Tools: Friskers Heart Edge Punch, SU's Heart to Heart Punch, Window Word Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Computer and Printer, Cat's Calendar Template from Splitcoast, Sponge, Dimensionals
The second one appears a lot busier so I aimed for a less is more approach.  I made the calendar in Microsoft Publisher and I very happy with the result, I can now change the colours and font size easily.
Supplies:
Stamps: SU's I (Heart) Hearts, A Happy Heart, For the Love of Chocolate (R)
Card & Paper: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Bella Rose DP
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #17

Gidday, to everyone on Australia Day,
This post is for Makeesha's first Inkspiration Colour Challenge for 2010. It is a fun challenge using one  of Stampin Up's unloved colours, Cameo Coral but I think the key is to get a good balance of colour and it works well.  As you can see I have made a feature of Cameo Coral and I like it.
To colour the flower petals I spritzed the petals with water, dried them slightly and then used a paintbrush and re inkers and painted them with pure colour to obtain the depth of colour. I built my flower adding dimensionals to give it some height and placed the ribbon in between the layers for something different and finished with the crystal brad.
Supplies:
Stamps: Whimsical Words, Sanded BG, Butterfly Prints
Card & Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, So Saffron Stamp Pads and Re Inkers
Embellishments: Crystal Brad and Crystals, Hemp Twine, Pretties Kit
Tools: Paintbrush, Art Palette, Water Spritizing Bottle, Mat Pack & Piercing Tool, Butterfly Punch, Cutter Tool, Needle & Cotton, Dimensionals, Cuttlebug, Curved Rectangles Nestabilities. Mini Glue Dots, Glue
Hope you like it,

Baby Shower

Hi there,
Happy Australia Day!!
I have had a busy couple of days catching up after visiting family in Perth.  While I was there my youngest daughter had a baby shower and I made a similar card to these for her present.  I forgot to take a photo so I remade the card and changed a number of elements.  Thank's to Crystal Jakiko for the idea, I can't find my notes at the moment so I can link to her blog.

I made my own template from an A5 piece of card, which is a lot smaller than Crystal's.  I used a couple of ideas from Pat Carr for the Babies head.  I used magnets to hold the card together and changed the positioning of the ribbon and only tied it to the front.
Supplies:
Stamps: Priceless
Card & Paper: Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Whisper White, Print Patterns DP, Petals & Paisley DP (R)
Ink: Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink Marker
Embellishments: Organdy Ribbon
Tools: Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots EB Folder, 1 3/8" Punch, 1/2" Punch, Word Window Punch, Cropadile, Heart to Heart Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Martha Stewarts Butterfly Punch, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals, Martha Stewart Screw Punch, Fine Black Pen, Sponge, Magnets, Computer & Printer
Leave a comment and let me know if you thinks it's cute.
Happy Stamping,
