Stampin' Up! Regional's Perth

Hi,
I had a fun time at Stampin' Up! Regionals in Perth last Saturday.  It was great to meet up with friends, learn some new techniques and see some new ideas.  We made some gorgeous Make and Take projects with a new stamp set and wheel and saw a few sneak peaks of products to come in the Summer Mini in December.  There were some great presentations from local demonstrator's and staff from Sydney and the US.
These are the four Make & Takes, a Card & Envelope, 6 x 6 Scrapbook page, a cute box with attached lid and a Trifold card.  I added a picture of my cute Grand daughter Kaela in her bathers to the Scrapbook page.  The ribbon tab is an insert for journaling behind the picture on the scrapbook page.

Key Supplies:
Stamps: Hello Again, Retro Remix Standard Wheel (new in Spring Mini), Defining Alphabet, Life Definitions
Card: Old Olive, Rose Red, Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Kraft
Ink: Rose Red, More Mustard, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie,
Accessories: Brads, Ribbon, Rick Rack, Accents & Elements felt flowers. Clips Assortment, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals, Square Scallop Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Stapler, Computer for Name & Date on Scrapbook page.
These are my Swaps.

Key Ingredients:
Stamps: Cheers to You, Fifth Avenue Floral, Oval All
Card: Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White, Urban Oasis DP, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Stazon Black, Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch (R), 1/8" Circle Punch,  Mat Pack & Piercing Tool, Ribbon, Toothpick, Dimensionals
These four cards were part of a WOW presentaion by Louise Ryan on Vellum Petals.  Aren't they beautiful.

HOT TIP
Andrea Buckland had a fabulous Tip for everyone when cutting Whisper White cardstock.  If the card is rough on the edges when cut, place a sheet of A4 photocoping paper just underneath the card at the cutting point and the Whisper White will cut nicely and the photocoping paper will be ragged.  It also saves the life of your cutting blade.  I have tried the tip and it works beautifully, especially if you have a slightly crooked piece of card or you only need to remove a smidgen to straighten or trim.
Andrea also presented a workshop on using Bleach in our projects.

Stamp Camp Swap - 2010 Calendar

Hello,
As promised these are the supplies for the swap I made for the recently held Stamperoo's Stamp Camp.  It is an A5 Base card which is decorated on the 4 sides to make the Calendar.  Each side uses the same supplies with the exception of the Designer Papers. I cased the Calendar from Linda Bullard (labullard) and Nancy Litterall on Splitcoast Stampers.  I printed the Calendar from  Printfree.com.  You might need to change the year by clicking in the bottom right hand corner of the calendar.  To reduce the size of the calendar you right click on the calendar, then click on Print Preview , then go to Shrink to Fit to reduce to 80% or less.

Key Supplies:
Stamps: A Flower for All Seasons
Card: Black, Whisper White, Various Designer Papers
Ink: Stazon Black, Markers
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Plain & Scalloped Circle Nesties, Metal Ruler, Cutting Mat, Cutting Knife, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals, Pencil, Bone Folder, 2 Way Glue Pen, Pencil, Computer to generate Season and Year Oval and Calendar Program found on the Internet.

Stamperoo's Stamp Camp

Hi everyone,
Last weekend I went to the Stamperoo's Demo Stamp Camp and had a wonderful weekend Stamping, Catching up with old Friends and Meeting new Friends.  It was a very busy couple of days.  The Swanleigh Hostel is set in the Swan Valley and provided a very pretty rural setting.  The Staff at Swanleigh looked after us providing the meals and morning and afternoon teas.  We stayed in one of  the Boarding facilities and ate our meals in the Dining room with the children and staff.

Here we all are at the end of the Camp, a little weary but still smiling. I am in the front row on the right hand side in the Black Top.

We found this cute little fellow on the tables when we arrived.  They were holding a Raffaello chocolate, so yummy thank's to Pat Carr, she is so creative with all of the Stampin' Up's punches.
The next four pictures are all the swaps we made, there were so many georgous cards created for the Shoebox Swap.

I created this Calendar for the Shoebox Swap. It is made with a standard size card base and decorated on four sides.  I will share the details in the next post.

When we went to bed we found this adorable Santa Box on our pillows filled with a yummy toffee and chocolate mixture.  Thank's to Ngaire for this very cute gift.

On the Saturday Louise Ryan, Charmaine Black, and Jan White had prepared some fabulous class projects for us to make. Louise chose this Scrapbook Album created by Andrea Walford, made from the I Wish Scrappin Kit.  I really love how it came together and it was made a lot easier with all the embellishments provided in the Kit.

Charmaine showed us how to do Smooshing. I had never heard of it before but it was fun.  It is on the main base piece of the scrapbook page and card.  We used a plastic microwave sheet and our stamp pads and a fine mist spray to prepare the colours and then draged and twisted the paper over the top of the plastic sheet.  It created a marbling effect and we then dried the paper with a heat gun.

Jan showed us how to make a "Fantasy Keepsake Box", the end result was fabulous and everyone really enjoyed creating their own.  We all chose many different Designer Papers and they all looked terrific when they were finished.

I made mine with a retired Stampin' Up! Designer Paper called Au Chocolate.  I have been hoarding it for a while and I am delighted that I decided to take it to the camp for this project.
Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Stamp Camp, to Ngaire for organising the event and Louise, Chairmaine and Jan for your fabulous class projects.
Happy Stamping,
Hugs,

Winter Christmas - Recessed Window Card

Hi there,
Today I have another different WOW fold to show you.  It is a very easy card to make , with just a few steps to create the completed card.  Size of the opening and placement on the card can be altered to suite any image you want to use.  I did alter the original directions by adding another 1/4 of an inch to the length of the card so I could score it twice at the centre fold and create a boxed fold.  It helps with the shape of the card to take up the recessed window and also helps the card sit better when closed.
For the main image I stamped the Lovely as a Tree trees with Tsukineko Memento London Fog.  Then I used a Scallop Circle Punched piece of card as a template and a sponge to create the clouds with Baja Breeze.  I stamped the Skaters on another piece of Whisper White card with Stazon and cut around them, after colouring, sponging and applying Dazzling Diamonds to the frozen lake area, I mounted the lake and skaters with dimensionals and placed it in the forefront. The designer paper is applied as a step in making the card.  For embellishments I used punched snowflakes and a sentiment that are mounted on dimensionals.  I then decorated the inside of the card.  I just love the finished card.  I found the directions on Splitcoast Stampers under the Monday Technique Lovers Challenge TLC 206 Recessed Window.

Slit Punch Feature - Gold Christmas

Hello Ladies,
This card is to show you another use for the Slit Punch.  I found it on Splitcoast Stampers.  I think it looks really cool.  To create the border you add 3/4" of an inch to the width of your piece of card.  Punch down the side as evenly as you can, I placed my slit punch about half way down on the previous punched section.  When you have completed punching, you fold the side piece back underneath and place a contrasting piece of card inside the open section. Jobs done.

Key Supplies:
Stamps: Tree Trimmings, Occassional Greetings
Card: Whisper White, Bravo Burgundy, Brushed Gold
Ink: Versamark, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Gold EP, Slit Punch, Crystal, Wide Oval Punch, Cuttlebug, Scallop Oval Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Ribbon
Hope you like it,

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #14 - Under the Sea

Hi there,
I definately had fun this week, decided to go with Bold Bright's colour family.  So you might need your sunglasses on.  Enjoy!!
I used my brayer to apply the background colours on the glossy card, and then stamped the seaweed.  I used the gloss card for the fish and seahorse and coloured the stamps with my markers and then Huffed and Puffed and stamped the images.  I cut them out and mounted then with dimensionals.  I inked the Weathered back gound stamp with Really Rust to tone down the organge base card.  I applied dimensionals to each mat to give the card more dimension.
Key Supplies:
Stamps: Ocean Commotion, Oval All, Weathered BG
Card: Only Orange, Brillant Blue, Yoyo Yellow, Glossy Card
Ink: So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Brillant Blue, Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow, Garden Green, Really Rust

Bella Rose Gift Set

I made this gift set for a friend. I used Lauren Meader's Picnic Basket template for the box from Papertrey Ink, wrapped a block of chocolate that pulls out by the ribbon and a Criss Cross Card to match. I used the gorgeous Stampin Up Bella Rose Designer Paper and the Friendly Words Jumbo wheel.  I just love the completed set, hope you do too.

Chocolate Wrap

I double stamped the rose and cut the top one and shaped it so it was more 3D, hard to see in the photo.
