Monthly Calendar Challenge - January 2010

Hello fellow Stampers and Scrappers,
I have decided to host a Monthly Calendar Challenge on my blog for each month during 2010. So we will see how it goes, I hope to inspire all of you to join in.  This month I am offering some Blog Candy to the Winner of my challenge and the design that appeals to me most. If you would like to play along, I would love to see your creations, see below for some guidelines.

January's Challenge will be Let's Party - Celebrate the New Year

I have made two calendars to kick things off. The first one is very fun and colourful. I used a base of Kiwi Kiss, Designer Paper by American Crafts, Image by The Cat's Pjamas - F-7467 Relaxing, punched out some extra circles added some balloon brads, and some sentiments from Stampin Up's Party Hearty and On Your Birthday.  The Calendar was printed from the Templates on Splitcoast Stampers by Cat.  Added some ribbon, staples, doodles, crystals and glitzed it up with my Gelly Roll pen.

The second one is more sophisticated and elegant in black and white with a touch of silver and gold.  I posted this on my blog as part of my Guest Stamper designs for the OCC Challenge this week, so go check  out the cards at Our Creative Corner and leave some comment love for the OCC Design Team.

The Recipe for this Calendar can be found in my last post on 26th December.

If you want to play along - here are some guidelines.

1. Make your creation on a 6" X 6" base, any medium can be used.  I find they fit beautifully into a Post Page Protector from the Stampin Up Linen Brag Book.  If you have a stand from Taylored Expressions or have made your own you are good to go.

2. Load your creation onto your Blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, with a direct link back to the post on this website, so that others viewing the post will know where the challenge has come from and check it out.
3. Then come back to this post so that you can add your name and link to Mr. Linky so everyone that participates can see your design.

You will have until Midnight of the 25th of each month to get your entries linked.
I will be announcing the Winner and Honourable Mention in the last week of the month and uploading my next month's calendar during this time.

So please join in and have some fun.  I look forward to seeing your Monthly Calendar designs.

Happy Stamping,
Hugs,

Gift for a Friend

Hello Stamping Friends,
Today I have a collection of goodies for you to see that I sent to my Splitcoast Secret Sister Chantell Randell as part of her reveal gift.  I have already posted the card that I made for the Inkspiration Sketch Challenge this week, so refer to the previous post for details.
The Tucked Away box was designed by Lauren Meader and is available at Papertrey Ink for you to purchase and download. It is a very easy and a quick box to make and has a significant WOW factor with the front flap wrapping around the front.
Key Ingredients:
Stamps: SU Punches Three, Verve - Wonderful Wishes
Card: Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, Urban Oasis DP
Ink: Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Curly Label Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Kiwi Kiss Ribbon, Dimensionals, Computer and Printer
The Picnic Box is another template by Lauren Meader and available at Papertrey Ink for purchase.
Key Ingredients:
Stamps: None
Card: Basic Grey, Sahara Sand, Urban Oasis DP
Ink: None
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Brads, Computer & Printer, Piercing Tool
The last items in the collection are made with the new Sweet Treat Cups featured in the Summer Mini Catalogue that runs from 1st December to 31st March 2010. I have filled them with some crystals and buttons, instead of chocolates or lollies.  The tag pulls out to reveal the goodies inside.  I saw the idea on Deann Olivers blog but she had combined them as a combination of three made with the same pierce of card, were I have made them singular.
