Hi Stampers,
What's in the box? ...........Weeeeeell it's a cute pop up giraffe of course! Another very fun and adorable project by Pat.  This cute giraffe was another big favourite at the stamp camp. The outside of the box was stamped with a sponge dauber and finished with a twisting motion on the designer paper. We made a slit on the front fold of the box to insert the Linen Trim and finished it off inside with a mat of So Saffron and Whisper White stamped with the sentiment.
The neck piece (spring) was made with 6 pieces of Chocolate Chip card 1 1/2" Wide by 12" Long. The head was attached with a piece of acetate. The bottom of the inside of the box is covered with a piece of chocolate chip.  The spring is adhered to the top of the Chocolate Chip mat.

Pat Carr's Stamp Camp October 2013 - Vintage Baroque

Hello Stampers,
For today's post we have a pretty vintage card designed by Pat. We stamped the frame, cut out the window and ran it through the Big Shot and then sponged the embossing with a sponge.  The fern was stamped off before stamping on the Very Vanilla card except for the darker leaf.  The Crumb Cake layer is mounted on dimensionals.  The flowers are made with punches and then twisted with tweezers to shape them after they were sponged with Crumb Cake and stuck together with Tombo Multi Purpose Glue. The crochet trim  is placed flat over a piece of linen thread and then tied together and the pearl added.
Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Papaya Collage, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Old Olive
Finishing Touches: Victoria Crochet Trim, Pearls, Linen Thread
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Beautifully Baroque E/Folder, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Tweezers, Dimensionals, Tombo Multi Purpose Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Sponges

Merry Monday #81 - Oh No...Santa's Stuck!

Happy Monday Everyone,
This weeks Merry Monday Challenge is to use Santa on your card.  I made a Tent card for my Santa who is up on the roof stuck half way down the chimney.  LOL.  I stamped him three times cutting out the face and hat and mounted it on dimensionals and changed the chimney colour to match the iron roof which has been crimped. I punched two Decorative Labels to get the mat for the sentiment and cut each one in half.  Just a simple little card, hope you like it, don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team's fabulous cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Eureka Santa, S/U's Great Greetings (R)
Card and Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Smokey Slate
Ink: Stazon Black, Smokey Slate, Real Red, Blush Blossom, Pretty In Pink
Finishing Touches: Dazzling Diamonds, Silver Pen
Cool Tools: Crimper, Decorative Label Punch, Aqua Painter, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals, 2 Way Glue Pen

Pat Carr's Stamp Camp October 2013 - Wood and Feathers

Hi Friends,
This card by Pat was one of the favourites at the stamp camp featuring the Light Birchwood Technique used as the background and is so easy to do.  We used Early Espresso, Old Olive and Crumb Cake for the colours and a Bone Folder.
1. Using the edge of the Bone Folder and Early Espresso ink, just tap onto the stamp pad to pick up the ink and drag up or down randomly in lines on the card stock.  Keep re-inking the Bone Folder edge and repeat until you have the desired effect.
2. Don't forget to clean the bone folder before changing to another colour. We used Old Olive ink in the same motion as before but also swipe sideways to remove excess ink and lightly smudge the ink on the card stock.
3. Use a dauber to sponge the edges of the card stock with Crumb Cake ink and then use the side edge of the dauber to gently rub some Crumb Cake in between some of the close lines created by the Bone Folder.  This gives the Woodgrain a more aged look.
4. To make the feathers we scored down the centre and folded the card in half cutting out a feather shape. Stamp the feather shapes with Early Espresso ink and S/U's Gorgeous Grunge stamp and sponge around the edges. Then cut fine slits down the sides of each feather, cutting V shapes every so often to add more definition.  After tying the knot we frayed the Burlap trim.
Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Express Yourself - Hostess, Gorgeous Grunge
Card: Confetti White, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky
Ink: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky
Finishing Touches: 7/16" Flax Burlap Trim
Cool Tools:  Stamp-a-ma-jig, Bone Folder, Sponge, Dble Sided Tape,
Thanks for stopping by today.

Pat Carr's Stamp Camp October 2013 at Shoalwater

Hi Everyone,
Last weekend I attended a camp with my good friend Pat Carr at a Retreat Centre in Shoalwater which is south of Perth.  It is a lovely peaceful place, very close to the sea and although it rained a lot of the weekend we all enjoyed ourselves making some gorgeous projects.  Pat, Jenny Chilton, Andrea Buckland and myself also presented a workshop and some technique classes.
Today's post is featuring three technique cards by Andrea Buckland using different mediums for the background and the same stamp set for each. For the first card we coloured with Marker's directly onto a clear block and spritzed and then stamped.  You leave the clear block sitting on the card until it has drawn all the moisture onto the card and the clear block is completely dry.  You then stamp your images and colour them as required.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Wetlands
Card: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon Black, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Basic Black
Finishing Touches: Early Espresso Twine
Cool Tools: Clear Block, Spritzer, Stamp-a-ma-jig,  Dble Sided Tape
The next card was made using Stamp Pads dragged lightly, directly on the card.  This technique can appear overdone until you do some stamping and it changes the whole look of your card.

Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Wetlands
Card: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon Black, Soft Sky, Smokey Slate, Crumb Cake
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Sizzix Pretty Print E/Folder, Large Oval Punch, Wide Oval Punch
The last card of the set was made using Painter's Tape inked up on stamp pads, stamped off once and stamped on the Whisper White card.  You can use the Painters Tape over and over again.  To keep the colours uniform on the background you can mark the tape on the stamp pad at the edges, this helps to line each colour up.
Supplies:
Stamps: S/U's Wetlands
Card: Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon Black, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi
Finishing Touches: 7/16" Flax/Burlap Trim
Cool Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Painters Tape, Dble Sided Tape, Dimensionals
Check back in the next few days for some more of the gorgeous projects we made, or become a follower so you know when I have posted some more projects.
Thanks for dropping by today.
